Passing Down and Evolving Suigei’s Sake Brewing
Built in 2018, Tosa-gura is nestled in the magnificent nature of Tosa City, adjacent to Kochi City. We positioned this brewery to be the base for brewing high-end products, such as junmai daiginjo sake, and equipped it with the latest facilities and brought over Suigei’s sake brewing techniques. Attached to the brewery, the SUIGEI STORE not only offers tastings and sake for sale but also carries original sweets made from amazake (sweet, low-alcoholic drink made from fermented rice) or sakekasu (sake lees). It also has a wide range of facilities to accommodate visitors from Japan and overseas. We hope you have a chance to visit Tosa-gura and enjoy Suigei’s sake brewing.

To announce the launch of Suigei’s new line in 2019, we held an event at the precinct of Sokujoin, sub-temple of Sennyuji, connected with the Imperial Family of Japan. The theme of the event was “Reiwa”, the new era of Japan, and guests appreciated stage performances like Noh, a fashion show, and a string instrument concert held in the grand Zen garden. Served there were dishes created by a chef from a renowned hotel, using carefully-selected ingredients from Kyoto and paired with Suigei sake.
